WHAT IS ACRYLIC VARNISH?

You may know it as machine varnish or water-based varnish, acrylic varnish is a type of varnish that combines protection and beauty.

Unlike its counterpart, UV varnish, this option is applied to the entire surface of your brochure. Transparent and very lightweight, it will protect your document, and unlike lamination, it will retain its flexibility.

Available in matte or glossy , this varnish is suitable for all your creations.

How is it applyed

Once the printing is completed, the varnish is applied in the very last step to fix the colors and protect them. Acrylic varnish is also known as machine varnish because it is applied simultaneously with the inks, directly on the offset press.

This technique is very simple and helps to dry the inks. Therefore, you should allow the substrate to dry for a moment before handling it.

WHY CHOOSE ONE OPTION OVER THE OTHER?

Visually, you’ll notice a slight glossy appearance, but its main advantages are as follows:

  • Better aging (no more yellowing pages)
  • It guards against moisture
  • Good resistance to UV rays
  • Subtly tactile
  • Protects against fingerprints and pen marks
  • Enhances the brilliance of your brochure
  • This finish is recommended if you want to create a heavily inked book or catalog.
